About the position

Kehillah Jewish High School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Full-Time Mathematics Teacher to join its dynamic teaching community. The role involves teaching a range of mathematics courses from Algebra 1 to Calculus BC, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the school's exceptional academic program. The position emphasizes curriculum development, student support, and collaboration with colleagues to enhance educational practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for up to five classes that align with curricular standards.
• Create clear objectives and utilize relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Assign and evaluate classwork and exams, providing timely feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and revise curricula, course content, and materials.
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Guide student behavior to foster academic achievement and personal responsibility.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
• Chaperone school events and class trips as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or related subject area (Master's preferred).
• At least two years of experience teaching high school Mathematics.
• Deep understanding of discipline material and best practices in education and pedagogy.
• Highly proficient with technology tools.
• Skilled at effective classroom management strategies.
• Collaborative with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with instructional design and delivery.
• Familiarity with platforms such as PowerSchool and Schoology.
