About the position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) faculty position, located in Little Rock and specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of expectant mothers having complicated or high-risk pregnancies and their unborn babies. Along with clinical duties, the MFM faculty member will actively participate in the clinical education of three MFM fellows, twenty OBGYN residents, and medical students. The MFM faculty member will work closely with a team of experienced diabetic educators, genetic counselors, nurse practitioners, and sonographers, among other consulting specialists. The candidate will need to be committed to being part of an organization focused on providing the best care for patients through a strong interdisciplinary approach, while also working to improve health disparities in the State of Arkansas. Other research and/or institutional opportunities may be available depending on candidate experience and interests. The faculty appointment will be in the Department in the College of Medicine. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient high risk obstetrical continuity clinic
  • Outpatient obstetrical clinic
  • Outpatient fetal ultrasound clinic
  • Labor and Delivery Unit
  • Surgical obstetrics including Placenta Accreta Spectrum Service, if desired
  • Fetal intervention
  • MFM consultation telemedicine and teleultrasound
  • MFM consultation coverage for Baptist Health Hospital and Northwest Arkansas
  • Bedside teaching
  • Didactic lectures
  • Clinical and educational guidelines for ANGELS program
  • Educational conferences
  • Mentorship of MFM fellows
  • Clinical research and publications

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified or eligible for board certification in the state of Arkansas
  • Completion of a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in an ACGME approved program
  • Completion of a fellowship in Maternal-fetal Medicine from an accredited program
