About the position

Under the supervision and general direction of the Materials & Stores Supervisor II (M&SSII), Support Warehouse, the M&SSI will operate in the Support Warehouse according to policy and procedure. Shall receive, stage, store, and issue various stock and non-stock materials, equipment and supplies. The M&SSI shall maintain accurate records of receipts and issues of non-stock supplies for numerous departments. Ensure quantity and quality of goods and complete all necessary receiving documents and records. Utilize Business Information System. Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs. Contact requisitioners to arrange pick-up/delivery of their supplies/packages; contact vendors and properly document discussions in order to rectify discrepancies or make arrangements for returns and/or replacements. On a regular basis, review open purchase orders and make the necessary contacts to obtain items pending delivery in order to close purchase orders in a timely manner. Maintain work area clean, neat and organized. Ensure your work area is strictly controlled, monitored, and secured at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify and confirm all delivered goods conform to purchase order for incoming shipments.
  • Supervise proper receipt of supplies by verifying counts, item identification, and condition.
  • Prepare all documents for receipt and issues of supplies.
  • Fill STD. 115, Storeroom Supplies Order, for numerous departments, on a regular basis, and make arrangements for delivery.
  • Operate delivery equipment safely at all times including delivery vehicles and material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Supervise and train incarcerated workers in all warehouse operations, including safe operation of equipment.
  • Maintain discipline, control, and security.
  • Prepare and submit incarcerated worker work reports, maintain incarcerated worker timekeeping, provide safety training for incarcerated workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Maintain accountability and security of tools.
  • Perform daily search of warehouse and incarcerated people for contraband.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions based on demand and usage.
  • Contact vendors and secure bids for goods needed to replenish inventory levels.
  • Complete and maintain all required logs.
  • Conduct physical inventory in accordance with warehouse procedures.
  • Research inventory discrepancies, and submit documentation to the Materials & Stores Supervisor II and Warehouse Manager II to adjust inventory, when required.
  • Assist other warehouse staff in various warehousing functions in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
  • If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you should include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification.
  • Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment.
