About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Material Handler (1st shift). Overtime may exceed these hours and can be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $18.40 per hour. Shift Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
  • Candidates must reside within a 50 - mile radius of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments to ensure parts and components are delivered on time and meet quality specifications.
  • Flex into other departments as needed to ensure customer and Eaton expectations are met.
  • Ability to work with programs like AS400, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Vista
  • Ability to use electrical schematics and blueprints to identify parts and components needed
  • Ability to use handheld scanners to track inventory in Shipping & Receiving

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in material handling in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with forklift operation in either a standup or sit down capacity

Responsibilities

  • Uses forklift or power equipment to move and store a variety of materials, parts or products.
  • Unloads incoming materials from trailers and vehicles.
  • Transports items from incoming staging area or from finished goods staging area to storage area.
  • Stores, stacks, and arranges material and maintains related documentation.
  • Operates overhead crane or hoist in moving of material, only crane certified associates.
  • Verifies, identifies and quantifies items received against purchase order.
  • Visually inspects and counts items / incoming parts, materials and supplies to detect shortages, damages in transit, broken packages and obvious defects.
  • Completes related documentation.
  • Moves or expedites material to proper department.
  • Pulls material and packages for delivery to Service Centers.
  • Uses KanBan system to order and replenish materials.
  • Visually inspects for damaged material.
  • Safely and efficiently delivers materials as needed to storeroom locations, or POU locations.
  • Notifies internal customers of receipts / product marked to their attention.
  • Maintains working relationship with internal customers.
  • Receives P.O.’s in system.
  • Separates AML material from non-AML. (Kanban)
  • Sorts and disperses return material.
  • Maintains all documentation accordingly.
  • Unloads trucks and checks freight bills accordingly.
  • Verifies material against packing list.
  • Pulls parts from Storeroom if needed in Service Center packing.
  • Ensures packaging is to standard to prevent loss or damage to product.
  • Processes internal Kanban cards.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the Kanban system.
