About The Position

Receives, stores, maintains, issues, delivers, and ships materials, weld filler material, tools, and Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE). This role involves various levels of experience, from 0 to 2.5 years within Industrial Warehouse Operations, and requires a Texas Driver's license. Essential responsibilities include performing material receipts, issues, returns, cycle counts, and entering transactions into computer systems. The position also requires operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, swing reach trucks, and 4-directional lifts, as well as floor and overhead cranes. The Material Handler must identify conditions adverse to quality and work with condition owners to resolve issues, provide constructive feedback to supervision, and demonstrate knowledge of procedures for receiving, storing, maintaining, issuing, and returning materials, tools, weld filler material, and M&TE. Additionally, the role requires the ability to complete forms clearly, understand hazardous material handling procedures, and knowledge of safety, quality, and security procedures. Basic math skills are necessary for checking materials and tools, and computer proficiency is required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Level 1: 0 - 6 Months within Industrial Warehouse Operations (Required)
  • Level 2: 6 Months - 1 Year within Industrial Warehouse Operations (Required)
  • Level 3: 1 - 1.5 Years within Industrial Warehouse Operations (Required)
  • Level 4: 1.5 - 2 Years within Industrial Warehouse Operations (Required)
  • Level 5: 2 - 2.5 Years within Industrial Warehouse Operations (Required)
  • Level 6: 2.5 - 3 Years within Industrial Warehouse Operations (Required)
  • Texas Driver’s license (Required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Lifting of 50 pounds and bending and squatting is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Position may require a DOT and IATA hazmat shipping certification.
  • Maintains passing scores throughout the apprenticeship training.
  • Completes training for filler material issue, rigging, cutting equipment operation (saw and torch), hazardous material handling.
  • Completes training and maintains certifications to operate, inspect and maintain materials handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs material receipts, issues, returns, cycle counts, and enters transactions into computer systems to support the needs of the station.
  • Operation of material handling equipment including forklifts, order pickers, swing reach trucks, 4-directional lift and operation of floor and overhead cranes.
  • Identifies conditions adverse to quality and works with condition owners to resolve issues as assigned.
  • Provides constructive feedback to supervision on issues that affect productivity and employee morale.
  • Knowledge of procedures on receiving, storing, maintaining, issue, measuring & test equip and return of materials, tools, weld filler material and M&TE.
  • Ability to complete forms clearly and completely.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of STP procedures for safety, quality, and security.
  • Ability to perform basic math to check materials and tools for quantity, physical condition, weight capacity and maintain records.
  • Ability to use a computer and required software.
  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
  • Work holiday coverage as required.
