About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Material Handler - Quality. The role will be Monday-Friday, 6am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $17.50 per hour. The role is eligible for the employee variable incentive program. The salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of Material Handling and/or Quality experience.
  • Current or prior certification in operation of forklifts used to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Must be willing and able to train and obtain a forklift license/certification.
  • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Being a self-starter with strong work ethics is necessary to accomplish all tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Eaton systems including material management (DMM), MRP/ERP (AS400), Quality Tool (MQ1)
  • Written, verbal and computer business communication skills required.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Forklift License
  • Experience with Panelboard, Fabrication and/or Switchboard process.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs.
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Transport, weigh and document components, nonconforming material, hardware, scrap, and offal throughout the facility.
  • Regularly monitor the weight of scrap bins and interact with recycling companies to manage scrap pickup.
  • Conduct non-conformance training stand downs related to scrap issues and support production associates in understanding the non-conformance process.
  • Manage non-conformance for hardware, aerosol cans, scrap carts and Red Tag areas across plants on a daily basis.
  • Participate in daily Gemba Scrap Walks to remove scrap from work areas as needed.
