About the position

The Material Handler position at Waste Management involves moving recyclable materials through the facility, conducting material grading, and evaluating materials for sale destinations. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient handling and processing of materials within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Move material through the facility using material handling equipment (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, handcarts, hoists, cranes).
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Use PC tablets to dispense and receive information such as part numbers, quantities, locations, comments, etc.
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Properly document work performed.
• Conduct material audits.
