About The Position

This role is responsible for delivering material to support the manufacturing process with a primary focus on Inventory Control. The Material Handler II will maintain warehouse materials in an organized fashion, ensuring all products have part numbers. They will pull and stage jobs according to the production schedule and associated pick tickets, deliver staged jobs, and respond to material requisitions where pick lists or Kanban systems are not in place. Inventory accuracy is the highest priority, second only to safety.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Strong Customer Service skills required.
  • Very good communications skills.
  • Hold a Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and communicate in the English Language.
  • Must have the physical strength and ability to frequently work more than 40 hours weekly.
  • Ability to operate all job necessary equipment including moving vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Must wear the appropriate PPE as determined by management.

Nice To Haves

  • Complete familiarity of all job functions in both Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse operations.
  • Trained and certified in the use of all of the Material Handling equipment throughout the manufacturing operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, stand-ups, etc.
  • Able to access the ERP system and perform inventory transactions and inquiries within the system.
  • Utilizing the ERP system, determine by part number, quantity of material on hand by location.
  • Able to research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history of material movement.
  • Understands how and why the Quarantine location exists and how to use it.
  • Performs job tasks in a manner that reflects behavior complimentary to the JCI LEM program.

  • Respond to material requisitions where pick lists or Kanban systems are not in place.
  • Perform all responsibilities and functions as detailed in the Material Handler I job description.
  • Have complete familiarity of all job functions in both Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse operations.
  • Be trained and certified in the use of all Material Handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, stand-ups, etc.
  • Access the ERP system and perform inventory transactions and inquiries.
  • Utilize the ERP system to determine material on hand by part number, quantity, and location.
  • Research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history of material movement.
  • Understand the purpose and usage of the Quarantine location.
  • Perform job tasks in a manner that reflects behavior complimentary to the JCI LEM program.
  • Act as a steward of all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as required.
