About The Position

The purpose of a fabrication planner is to monitor and manage fabrication capacity and demand within SAP to ensure workload is balanced and accurately reflected. The role includes releasing and assigning dates to customer orders based on available capacity and material readiness. By doing this, the planner helps support realistic scheduling, meets customer request dates, and contributes to improving overall On-Time Delivery (OTD). Duties may evolve in response to business needs.

Requirements

• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to identify bottlenecks, resolve issues, and implement process improvements
• Able to prioritize work, delegate, and meet deadlines
• Minimum 3-4 years business experience around production and material planning in SAP environment
• Strong technical understanding
• Hands-on attitude
• Target oriented

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field

Responsibilities

• Review new SAP orders daily and verify accuracy of order details.
• Monitor work center capacity to ensure demand aligns with available hours and identify potential overloads early.
• Assign realistic fabrication dates and release orders based on material availability and required lead times.
• Notify supervisors, planners, or customer service when capacity, material delays, or constraints may impact promised dates.
• Reference scheduled manufacturing dates or purchase order dates, including external PO timelines, to confirm material readiness.
• Update dates, statuses, and notes in SAP to keep the system clean and reliable for downstream teams.
• Respond quickly and professionally to any problems, delays, or customer concerns that arise.
• Assist with reviewing late orders, root causes, and corrective actions related to fabrication delays.
• Follow all company policies, safety regulations, legal requirements, and ISO standards.
