About the position

As a Marketing Data Analyst at 1stDibs, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how our luxury e-commerce marketplace uses data to drive smarter, more efficient decisions. You’ll sit within the broader Analytics team while partnering closely with our Marketing organization, including the CMO and leaders across Integrated, Lifecycle, Paid Marketing, SEO, and Merchandising. In this role, you’ll lead analysis and build scalable reporting that measures marketing performance, informs audience strategy, identifies merchandising trends, and supports experimentation through frameworks like email A/B testing. Your work will not only uncover actionable insights but also strengthen our overall data foundation across departments. We’re looking for a self-starter with strong SQL skills, a sharp analytical mindset, and a passion for using data to solve real business problems. You should be equally comfortable diving into the details and stepping back to see the big picture. Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for a dynamic, startup-like environment are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Become a trusted partner to marketing and customer teams.
  • Identify and analyze key performance metrics, trends, and patterns in buyer behavior.
  • Transform structured and semi-structured data into meaningful insights to guide business strategy.
  • Design and build reports, visualizations, and scalable self-serve dashboards that empower key stakeholders to make data-informed decisions.
  • Lead efforts to streamline data organization and collection.
  • Translate business needs into clear data requirements and data products.
  • Conduct data quality audits, identify collection issues, suggest improvements, and implement solutions.
  • Work closely with other analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to turn data insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, data-driven, and positive team culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a data analytics role, ideally with a focus on performance or digital marketing, or similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using SQL; Python knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of data transformation processes, including experience with tools like dbt to build and maintain scalable data products.
  • Exposure to A/B testing methodologies and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with core marketing analytics concepts including marketing attribution models, customer segmentation, marketing mix modeling, and campaign measurement/incrementality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex findings to different audiences.
