About the position

The Market Director, Facility Management at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for overseeing and leading the Facility Services Departments within the East Texas market. This role focuses on achieving financial, strategic, and operational goals while ensuring high customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory standards. The director acts as a liaison between market teams and the overall Facilities Management team, implementing strategic initiatives and supporting hospital Facility Directors in delivering technical service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership to Market and hospital Facility Services Departments.
  • Implement CommonSpirit Health and Facilities Management Energy and Infrastructure strategic initiatives.
  • Assist hospital Facility Directors in meeting standards and achieving technical service delivery excellence.
  • Partner with Regional and Market leadership to provide technical assistance and monthly operations reporting.
  • Conduct department head visits and meetings to ensure timely report delivery.
  • Manage established market and hospital budgets and verify appropriate use of resources.
  • Inspect maintenance records to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Drive financial improvements and increase GPO contract compliance.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of management and staff.
  • Establish an environment that attracts and develops talented leaders.
  • Manage ongoing communication with staff, leadership, and customers.

Requirements

  • 7 years of significant experience in healthcare facilities management in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams to develop and monitor Facilities Management services.
  • Experience with construction project phasing in an acute healthcare environment.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements including The Joint Commission and CMS.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external constituencies.
  • Working knowledge of hospital mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Proven track record of on-time, on-budget project delivery for central plant and mechanical projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make effective decisions under pressure.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business preferred.
  • Professional designation, licensure, or certification (e.g., CHFM, PE).
