About The Position

Medtronic is seeking a committed professional for a remote Market Development Manager position, focusing on Advanced Energy products within the Western United States. The hired candidate must reside within the territory and be able to travel extensively to multiple accounts. This role is part of the Neuroscience portfolio, specifically within the Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) Operating Unit, which develops integrated ecosystems for spine and cranial procedures. The Advanced Energy business within CST offers innovative products like Aquamantys Bipolar Sealers, PLASMABLADE Precise Soft Tissue Dissection Devices, and RadiaLux Lighted Retractors. The Market Development Manager will act as a key commercial and clinical liaison, driving the adoption and execution of AE products by partnering with sales leadership, sales representatives, surgeons, hospital stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. This individual will be a leader for AE product, process, and growth, focusing on complex technology integration, procedural optimization, and long-term account development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences; or Associates Degree and 6+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences; or Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences.
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.
  • Ability to work in hospital and operating room environments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting AE, orthopedic, or robotic-assisted surgical procedures.
  • Strong understanding of AE procedural workflows, operating room dynamics, and healthcare economics.
  • Operating room and sterile field experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with surgeons and hospital clinical teams.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Experience conducting surgeon education, labs, and clinical training events.
  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead strategic business discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's Cranial & Spinal Technologies AE products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate and educate AVPs, RSD's & DM's of essential AE business related data and reporting to properly support and promote AE integration and success.
  • Drive strategic adoption and utilization of AE platforms across targeted health systems and accounts.
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors, Capital Sales Representatives, Spine Sales Representatives, Clinical Specialists, and cross-functional leadership to execute regional growth strategies.
  • Develop and execute account-specific strategic technology plans aligned to business objectives and customer needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on enabling technologies, procedural workflows, and technology integration.
  • Build relationships with surgeons, administrators, OR leadership, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Assist with technology evaluations, capital planning discussions, ROI justification, and value-based selling initiatives.
  • Identify workflow efficiencies and procedural optimization opportunities that improve customer experience and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with marketing, training, operations, and clinical teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support.
  • Analyze regional performance metrics, utilization trends, and customer adoption data to drive strategic decision making.
  • Provide field intelligence and customer feedback to leadership and product development teams.
  • Travel extensively throughout assigned geography to support customer and business needs.
