About the position

Signicast is seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Manufacturing Technicians. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process. The position involves working on a day shift from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on a 12-hour 2-2-3 rotating schedule. The starting wage depends on experience plus applicable shift premiums. Dependable and reliable attendance is required for all positions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and continually improve on Signicast's processes within the Dip/De-Wax cell.
  • Adding sand and cleaning sand beds.
  • Measurement of the slurry mixture to ensure the right consistency.
  • Unscrewing the mold from the mold hanger in order to put a cup on the mold for the next step.
  • Lift the mold from the cup machine and load it onto the mold cart to load into the autoclave.
  • Loading and unloading of the autoclave.
  • Loading all sprues from the de-waxing process (autoclave) and load into the sprue-cleaning machine.
  • Patch molds so there are no leaks.
  • Lift molds onto the conveyor system that enters into the burn-out furnace.
  • Back up for other areas if the continuous flow manufacturing process is interrupted to remove any backlogs.
  • Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Respond to alarms on melt units, caustic units, KOH units, furnaces, and revert dryer for safety and proper functioning.
  • Detect sounds from equipment for proper functioning.
  • Analyze and evaluate jobs to ensure that they are prioritized and sequenced to maximize the efficiency of work.
  • Analyze and evaluate molds poured readout on the computer to verify that the correct number of molds poured are correctly listed.
  • Placing alloys on the platform for additions in melt and replacing back into storage.
  • Melting alloys to form metal in pot.
  • Pouring metal into molds and setting down correctly according to standard practices.
  • Removing ceramic in rough clean with water blaster and/or caustic.
  • Maintaining the quality of metal to specifications indicated on standard practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or HSED/GED equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solve problems, and instruct or train lesser-skilled employees.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret English documents such as part drawings, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence.
  • Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.
