Manufacturing Technician

About the position

We are looking for a manufacturing technician to join our team. You will assemble, test and deliver hundreds of Satellites with a small team of dedicated technicians and engineers who take great pride in their work. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our San Francisco, CA 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Execute electro-mechanical build operations of production and prototype systems
• Define, implement and improve processes and procedures
• Develop work instruction guides
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma)
• Manage the production floor for optimization and safety
• Test electrical system and boards
• Document and report test failures to broader team
• Work closely with engineers to support project development work

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels
• Organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
• 4+ years of hands-on technician experience
• Proactive approach towards work
• Ability to write and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Familiarity with proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement processes
• Proficiency in reading both mechanical and electrical drawings
• Ability to use light machine shop fabrication equipment (mill, lathe, band saw, chop saw, etc)
• Experience working with batteries
