About the position

The Manufacturing Technician I at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies plays a crucial role in the preparation and processing of materials for biopharmaceutical production. This position involves working with various technologies to ensure the quality and safety of products, contributing to the development of vaccines, cures, and gene therapies. The technician will be responsible for following standard operating procedures, maintaining compliance with cGMP regulations, and collaborating with team members to achieve production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medium and buffers from stock raw materials, including compounding, mixing, testing, and filtration.
  • Weigh raw materials according to batch record specifications and assign appropriate expiry dates per procedures.
  • Conduct integrity testing of filters.
  • Write and review standard operating procedures, buffer formulation records, and batch production records.
  • Assist senior staff in implementing project safety and quality assurance programs in accordance with SOPs.
  • Document and maintain activity records according to cGMP regulations and ensure junior team members are trained.
  • Operate general production equipment such as autoclaves, glass washers, incubators, analytical scales, and pH/conductivity meters.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of the laboratory and manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related field; OR a High School Diploma/GED with some continuing education and previous work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to train others to perform to cGMP standards.
  • Good self-discipline and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including alternative shifts and weekends as required.
  • Excellent math and computer skills.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment with full clean room gowning and good aseptic technique.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
