About the position

The Teaching Assistant (T/A) / Student Worker positions will assist instructors for the conventional machining, Computer Aided Machining (CAM) and Apprenticeship (Industrial Maintenance) courses for open lab coverage. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in machining lab processes for conventional lathe operations.
  • Instruct students in machining lab processes for 3 axis conventional mill operations.
  • Instruct students in machining lab processes for creation of Operations Documentation (OperDoc).
  • Instruct students in machining lab processes for layout of lathe and mill part creation.
  • Evaluate Operations Documentation for completeness and flow.
  • Follow and enforce all KCC policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in conventional lathe operations.
  • Prior experience in conventional mill operations.
  • Prior experience in conventional saw, drilling, hand grinding and precision grinding operations.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Dependable.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing course content, including text and lab manual processes.
  • Enjoys working with students and faculty.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint for OperDoc and documentation creation.
  • Must be a current student at Klamath Community College.
  • Have completed manufacturing course work (classroom and Lab) for MFG 120 & MFG 221.
