We are looking for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer who will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the digital product configuration systems that drive our manufacturing environment. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing operations, and ERP systems, ensuring that customer orders translate seamlessly into accurate bills of materials, production outputs, and manufacturing data. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with ERP, MRP, or manufacturing systems in a production environment.
  • Experience supporting product configuration systems or manufacturing data environments.
  • Strong understanding of Bill of Materials structures and product configuration logic
  • Experience working with system formulas, configuration rules, or manufacturing data tables preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking and technical troubleshooting ability
  • Highly organized with strong documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple system updates and projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and collaboration across technical and operational teams

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance product models, configuration options, and system logic within the ERP/MRP environment.
  • Ensure order entry selections translate into accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), machine files, and production reports.
  • Create and maintain configuration rules governing option availability, dependencies, and conditional behavior.
  • Support product launches and engineering changes through system updates and configuration enhancements.
  • Design and maintain BOM skeletons, including parent assemblies and nested subassemblies.
  • Develop structured BOM frameworks that accurately represent manufacturing components and material requirements.
  • Configure BOM logic using formulas, option conditions, and data table references.
  • Validate BOM outputs through system testing before production deployment.
  • Maintain and optimize manufacturing data tables used for item IDs, fabrication programs, and system outputs.
  • Configure table logic using order variables and configuration selections to generate accurate system records.
  • Support updates to pricing tables, component data, and configuration attributes.
  • Develop and execute test plans for system changes prior to deployment.
  • Generate test orders to validate configuration logic, BOM outputs, and production data.
  • Support development and testing in system environments before migrating updates to production.
  • Maintain documentation and records of configuration changes and test results.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, Operations, and Customer Service teams to implement configuration changes.
  • Troubleshoot ERP configuration issues impacting order entry, production reporting, or manufacturing operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within product configuration architecture and manufacturing systems.
  • Maintain documentation of system logic, standards, and configuration history.
