About the position

To maintain superior customer focus, we are seeking a MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR to join our team. This position will provide product engineering (with manufacturing focus) for all operation departments as needed. For the right candidate, this role can lead to other challenging opportunities in Engineering or Operations in Louisville, or perhaps within the vast Emerson network of companies around the world!

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary driver in Safety and Ergonomic Improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing environment
  • Lead the daily activities and supervise the Manufacturing Engineer and Maintenance Staff
  • Support our Global Manufacturing Strategy, ensuring that all manufacturing facilities are standardized in assembly methods, processes and equipment
  • Represent Manufacturing interests in design reviews for New Product Development Projects, Engineering Changes and Customs ensuring the feasibility and effectiveness of product designs, by using DFM/DFA and Lean practices
  • Ensure Production readiness for New Product launches, Engineering Changes and Custom Products
  • Lead the development and implementation of process automation efforts for Production, including the selection, set-up, installation and training of automated equipment
  • Establish, document, train and maintain equipment set-up parameters for all special processes (welding, induction soldering, painting, testing, etc.)
  • Support continuous improvement, problem solving, 5S and Lean initiatives with the design and implementation of mistake-proofing fixtures, tooling and production aides
  • Provide Manufacturing Engineering support to Materials initiatives through involvement in vendor material and manufacturing process changes, vendor selection and qualification, and material

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated expertise in industrial instrumentation, PLCs, electromechanical assembly, welding, soldering, data acquisition, electrical engineering, Fieldbus protocols, technical writing, formal problem solving, and team facilitation
