About the position

Accuray is seeking an intern to join its Manufacturing Engineering team for the summer of 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative medical device technology aimed at treating cancer. Interns will engage in various technical activities that impact the design and manufacturing of radiation therapy products, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and evaluate results of first article inspections.
• Develop requirements for ongoing received materials.
• Develop plans, layouts, and processes for in-process products.
• Create and validate new work instructions and test records.
• Develop and validate new tooling and test devices.
• Plan, execute, and document process validation for new or updated processes.
• Maintain manufacturing work instructions for production personnel.
• Manage product changes (ECOs) to ensure correct implementation into production.
• Conduct review and disposition of Non-Conforming Materials.
• Interface and support regulatory affairs to investigate Out-of-Box Failures (OBF).
• Maintain electro-mechanical production fixtures and tooling.
• Document and control test processes.

Requirements

• Open to all Engineering majors.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Comfortable and confident working with engineers and suppliers.
• Organized, with strong project planning and execution skills.
• Self-starter able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.

Nice-to-haves

• Preference for those in Biomedical, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering programs.
