About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in driving process optimization and efficiency within the production environment at HSM. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyze current manufacturing processes, implement lean manufacturing principles, and design innovative solutions that enhance machine efficiency and overall manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize production workflows and minimize waste.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions to enhance machine efficiency and improve overall manufacturing performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed process improvements and automation projects.
  • Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to machinery and processes.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to facilitate the seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement best practices in manufacturing engineering.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost-saving measures and productivity enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Ensure all process changes adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee and guide the maintenance team to support efficient machinery operation and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure the timely execution of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Mentor and develop maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety, continuous learning, and process adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and automation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in supervising or managing maintenance teams is a plus.
