About the position

ITW Electronics Assembly Equipment (EAE) Division is made up of five brands strongly recognized by Contract Manufacturers and OEMs in the Electronics and Industrial Markets. The Division designs, develops, manufactures, and markets capital equipment primarily used in the assembly process of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and other industrial applications. The position involves investigating and analyzing unique or highly technical manufacturing problems or a variety of complex mechanical or electrical production problems and recommending and providing all necessary technical assistance for the solution. The role requires working with assembly floor personnel to troubleshoot and correct manufacturing processes for continuous improvement, reducing cycle time and man hours while improving product efficiencies. The position also involves working closely with production supervisors and coordinators to improve manufacturing processes and reduce waste, as well as implementing lean manufacturing principles on the assembly floor.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize lean/six sigma problem solving tools and project management skills to drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize yield, quality, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Work in collaboration with Engineering Teams on New Product Introduction from initial concept design into full production.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, process line layouts, operational standard times, line balance, and production capacities. Document detailed manufacturing work instructions (standard work).
  • Determine root causes of failures or recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Work with Suppliers on Quotations, Quality Issues and responsible for monitoring Supplier capabilities & capacities to evaluate risks associated.
  • Responsible for handling ISO related activities within the facility and ensuring continued compliance to ISO 9001:2015 certification.
  • Participate in Capital Planning, Equipment procurement and Installation projects with Operations Team.
  • Review drawing packages, bill of materials, routings on New Engineering Releases for Manufacturing feasibility.
  • Evaluate product pricings, material lead times and perform Make vs Buy assessments to maximize profits.
  • Identify process inefficiencies by conducting Time Studies & First Article Builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years' experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing
