About The Position

BRG’s Government Contract practice professionals apply extensive experience and competence to assisting organizations to adapt to and comply with requirements triggered by successful contract awards. We develop practical yet comprehensive solutions to the issue contractors face, including assistance in bid protests, complex cost and pricing issues, claims/dispute resolution, complex transaction assistance, and litigation support services. Our multidisciplinary team has a strong foundation in government contract administration and cost accounting, pricing, audits, damages, forensic accounting, and investigations. BRG’s Government Contracts experts include CPAs, CMAs, Certified Fraud Examiners, and industry leaders. BRG's Managing Consultants are highly motivated problem solvers with strong analytical abilities and a desire to advance within the organization. Responsibilities include modeling financial and cost accounting data, performing compliance assessments and gap analyses, designing of financial and statistical analyses, analyzing and developing government contract claims, quality control, development of client deliverables, and industry research. The work of a Managing Consultant can be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject-matter research to data collection to the preparation of statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the areas of accounting and finance.
  • Minimum two to four (2-4) years prior work experience in either professional or litigation services.
  • Proven capability with MS Excel and/or exposure to other analytical software (e.g., MS Access, MS SQL Server).
  • A desire to expand those capabilities along with other applications (e.g., legal document management software) is required.
  • Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications considered valuable to this position include CPA, CFE, or CGMA etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Government contracts clients analyzing various financial cost and pricing-related challenges as well as Government contract compliance issues.
  • Assist Government contractors with critical accounting, contract administration, and strategic business questions.
  • Develop customized solutions addressing critical questions while also enhancing client operational effectiveness and profitability.
  • Interact directly with clients in the aerospace & defense, professional services, manufacturing, high technology, cybersecurity, construction & engineering, NGOs and health insurance sectors, among many others.
  • Perform detailed research and analysis, then put the results into action (e.g., gather, review and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public and commercial databases).
  • Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets and other files as dictated by project
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions.
  • Audit own work products and work products of others to assure quality.
  • Participate in team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and expectations.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed.
