About the position

ERM is seeking a motivated Managing Consultant, Environmental Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist at a senior level to join the Liability Portfolio Management & Remediation team. This role involves managing site investigation, risk assessment, and remediation projects under various environmental regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior project managers and technical experts, contributing to innovative and sustainable solutions while developing leadership and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate project work involving site investigation, utility location and clearance, risk assessment, and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments.
  • Plan and coordinate field work including sampling, drilling, well installation, and high-resolution site characterization.
  • Review and interpret environmental data; develop conceptual site models and prepare work plans and reports.
  • Support internal and external projects utilizing new technologies to improve efficiency and achieve project objectives.
  • Evaluate remedial alternatives and assist clients in developing cost-effective closure strategies.
  • Design and pilot test remedies for contaminated soil, groundwater, and sediments using innovative remediation technologies.
  • Delegate assignments to project team members and mentor junior staff.
  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development with existing clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or geology or a closely related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 7-12 years of progressive project management and technical experience for moderate to complex site investigations.
  • PE or PG certification in New Jersey or ability to obtain it in the near future.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, and state programs.
  • Familiarity with innovative and sustainable site investigation and remediation technologies.
