About The Position

Fareva is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Technical Services to join our team in Richmond, VA. Fareva is a leading contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical and personal care products. Located at intersection of Darbytown Road and Laburnum Avenue in Eastern Henrico County. Comfortable climate controlled facility covering over 745,000 square feet. Oversee the activities, projects, and initiatives of the Technical Services team for a given primary operating unit (Liquids, Topicals, Solids Packaging, and/or Aerosols). Drives the application of technical process solutions in production ensuring priorities align with operational and business needs, company goals, and government regulations. Actively participates with the Customer Service, Research & Development, and Engineering departments to respond to new business opportunities and facilitates the smooth transfer of new products/equipment/technologies to the Fareva Richmond site.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Engineering, Life Sciences or related scientific field is required for this position.
  • B.S. + 5 years or more related experience in a technical role
  • M.S. or higher in Engineering , Life Sciences or related scientific field + 3 years relevant experience
  • Training and experience in current industry practices for Process Engineering, Validation, Manufacturing Technologies, Production, Regulatory Affairs, Good Manufacturing Practices, knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations and regulatory guidance documents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data driven intermediate to strategic long-term plans in order to achieve site objectives and goals.
  • Serve as a primary resource for input into the strategic long-range planning of packaging and process improvements and strategic business objectives.
  • Monitor and track the number and scope of technical transfer projects required for the success of site-wide initiatives to appropriately assign and balance work within the team.
  • Manage the team’s resources and expertise, leading to successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Develops a balance of short and long-term improvement projects in an effort to mitigate immediate inefficiencies while investing in long-term solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership for the team to ensure effective support of product quality and/or process challenges.
  • Working with the customer’s technical and quality teams and internal stakeholders to develop systematic approaches to maximize value-added activity and overall efficiency of the operating unit.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and performance management to the team.
  • Establish the individual goals, objectives and performance expectations, which are aligned with the site’s objectives.
  • Provide priorities and ongoing feedback and recognition.
  • Monitor personnel’s progress in accomplishing assigned project objectives, quality of work, execution relative to budget and delivering on commitments both directly and through supervisory levels.
  • Provide guidance and oversight regarding equipment related activities relative to compliance and quality.
  • Serves as the Technical Service’s signatory for all manufacturing and/or packaging process related documents and change controls.
