About the position

The Planning and Inventory Manager is responsible for facilitating, mentoring and coordinating successful planning and inventory projects. This includes ensuring that both the technical and people aspects are taken into account, incorporating change management strategies. Manage resources to effectively help execute the site/function strategy deployment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Drive team to manage material shortages to ensure Clear to Builds in collaboration with the Purchasing and SLM Team.
  • Support the team being the liaison between customer project management and internal departments on the introduction of new product requirements.
  • Ensure the team performs a timely and accurate demand management process.
  • Ensure proper Excess, Surplus and Obsolete inventory.
  • Identify the impact of excess and obsolescence and drive necessary actions to mitigate it.
  • Ensure bills of material are accurate and collaborate with other teams on any engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to achieve Inventory Entitlement targets and drive results.
  • Drive actions to meet the Inventory goals, including performing accurate Inventory Projection.
  • Lead the team to maintain continuous Material Supply to achieve the targeted inventory levels and turns.
  • Perform material and capacity analysis before loading MPS.
  • Validate that the team performs Financial Impact Analysis (FIA) to mitigate inventory risk before loading MPS.
  • Work with other departments to review and dispose of non-conforming materials.
  • Ensure production schedules to meet the customer requirements to achieve high levels of on time delivery.
  • Ensure proper POR including OAR management and timely execution.
  • Drive necessary actions to meet revenue goals.
  • Manage RMA orders and work with other departments to meet repair commitments.
  • Monitor planning parameters ROP & SS to ensure optimized inventory levels.
  • Ensure proper execution of the SIOP Process.
  • Maintain responsibility for SCM Team training completion, performance management, development, recognition, coaching and compensation of employees.
  • Reassign personnel as necessary to optimize work.
  • Act as a liaison with customers to ensure forecast commitments are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve supplyflex programs.
  • Submit Investment Inventories for material that is not required for normal manufacturing operations.
  • Follow global procedures and policies and drive practices aligned to them.
  • Collaborate with Global and Segment teams to drive Inventory Management Operating System.
  • Manage KRIs, Planning Metrics and drive necessary actions.
  • Drive continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
  • Responsible for annual physical inventory, site surplus/excess sale process and disposition of scrap material.
  • Develop and execute site inventory management processes including forecasting, analysis, reporting, action plans.
  • Oversee design, development, integration and maintenance of SCM systems, tools, processes and training at the site.
  • Manage Celestica HUB process.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, assess, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
  • ERP System Logic Understanding.
  • Rapid Response Kinaxis System Knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Knowledge.
  • Basic Statistical Analysis Knowledge applied to Supply Chain.

  • Ability to maintain external contacts with consultants, associations and other companies for benchmarking and networking.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of global and local transportation services.
