About the position

The Manager of Strategic Sourcing at Sony Corporation of America will lead sourcing efforts for the Global Information Systems & Communications Department (GISC). This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and managing vendor relationships primarily in IT-related areas, including hardware, software, telecom, SaaS, and cloud services. The position requires a strategic approach to sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management to achieve cost savings and compliance with internal policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic sourcing activities for the Global Information Systems & Communications Department (GISC).
• Manage RFQ processes and negotiations for all IT spend areas including Datacenter, Networks, Hardware, Software & SaaS, InfoSec, and Staff Augmentation.
• Support stakeholders with their sourcing needs through requirements gathering, market analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, and vendor management.
• Build partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders including Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and Finance.
• Facilitate legal review and risk management assessments to develop and execute favorable contracts.
• Analyze vendor proposals and make recommendations to stakeholders.
• Build strategic relationships with key vendors to seek savings and better contractual terms.
• Ensure adherence to policies, systems, processes, and procedures to meet business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Maintain a systematic method for cost savings and ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing's savings methodology.
• Ensure accurate reflection of initiatives in the savings tracking tool.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in IT Strategic sourcing and Procurement.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience working for global organizations, preferably Fortune 500.
• Experience with SAP SRM & Ariba is preferred.
• Proven track record of utilizing a traditional Strategic Sourcing process (7 step).
• Successful outcomes in negotiating with vendors in competitive and direct-negotiation environments.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically (up to 15%).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
