As a member of the IT Management Team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of employees. Your role includes leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, which involves overseeing team performance and deliverables. However, your role as a leader within Costco's organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team's strategic vision and plan as well as ensuring that your team's actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division. The Manager of the Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) team and the Security Orchestration, Automation, and Remediation (SOAR) team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of security engineers and analysts, focusing on performance and deliverables. You will be part of a dynamic team supporting Global Cybersecurity Operations. This role delivers SIEM and SOAR capabilities and functionality, directly supporting all teams in Information Security as well as other customers. As the primary conduit between your employees and upper leadership, your role in communicating and modeling the values and guiding principles of our company culture is of vital importance. Responsibilities

  • Use methods/strategies consistent with the Code of Ethics and the Standard of Ethics for Managers and Supervisors.
  • Provide and ensure staff provides an exceptional member experience.
  • Ensure proper department coverage and understand department budget.
  • Coach and mentor employees to provide support and guidance.
  • Share information with employees via meetings and one-on-one conversations.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and maintain self-control in intense situations.
  • Encourage different approaches and ideas to accomplish goals.
  • Ensure employee and member information is kept confidential and adheres to IS security policy.
  • Nurture excellent relationships with Cybersecurity Operations and operate On-Call as needed.
  • Develop relationships with neighboring team managers.
  • Support employees as they develop and realize their professional goals.
  • Maintain integration between Security Operations Center, Incident Response/Hunt, Cyber Intelligence, and additional sibling teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SIEM and SOAR Engineering, expert in Splunk, Sentinel, Google SecOps.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Previous leadership experience (minimum of 2 years); team building, conflict resolution and personnel development skills.
  • Ability to quickly assess and prioritize security requests.
  • Experience maintaining cost plans and managing department budgets.
  • Experience with contract negotiations and managing scope of work processes.
  • Demonstrates competency in SIEM and SOAR engineering concepts.
  • Ability to establish and foster a positive working environment.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience developing and managing a diverse team.
