About the position

The Manager of Sales Compensation at BECU plays a crucial role in aligning sales compensation programs with corporate strategy, motivating and retaining top talent. This position involves designing and administering sales incentive programs, collaborating with business leaders, ensuring accurate compensation calculations, and maintaining compliance with legal requirements. The role also emphasizes leadership development and fostering an inclusive environment for team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and administration of BECU's overall sales incentive programs for employees and leaders.
  • Advise business leaders on sales compensation, offering strategic solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the annual sales incentive plan design process to support business needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely calculation of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales incentives.
  • Collaborate with the Base Compensation team and other HR functions on key initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to your team, conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding sales incentive compensation to ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and sales compensation best practices, making recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure alignment of sales compensation practices with BECU's policies and values.
  • Take on additional duties as needed to contribute to team success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or human resources or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 years of experience in the Sales Compensation field, including commission or incentive calculation and incentive plan design.
  • 4 years of experience leading sales incentive plan design projects.
  • 1 year of leadership experience.

  • Understanding of sales compensation concepts.
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced-level Excel skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive project work within established deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare and present professional-level presentations to senior leaders.
