About the position

The Manager - Regional Operations is responsible for overseeing multiple functional areas within the Electric Distribution department, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This role involves leadership in project management, resource allocation, and staff development, while also coordinating emergency responses and problem resolution across various functions. The position requires extensive travel and interaction with public and private stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more functional areas within the region such as Line, Gas, Meter, Substation, and Field Customer Service.
• Provide leadership and direction to achieve goals and implement change.
• Develop and implement annual business plans including O&M and Capital budgets.
• Monitor ongoing progress and reallocate resources as necessary to ensure goal achievement.
• Oversee and evaluate work processes and implement process improvements.
• Select, train, and develop personnel, guiding and appraising their work.
• Coordinate key contract bids and awards with Procurement.
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and safe work procedures.
• Participate in service restoration processes during electric and gas emergencies.
• Resolve employee relations, labor relations, and customer relations issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years relevant experience, or equivalent required.
• Managerial and leadership skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Prior experience with project management preferred.
• Ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Customer focused.
• Ability to administer to budgets, contracts, staffing needs, performance management goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with Utility professionals across the company.
• Ability to develop and manage a safe work environment.
