The Manager, Reagent Health & Performance (RHP) will lead the RHP team, managing headcount, budget, and logistics to ensure product robustness and sustainability. This role involves setting high standards for efficiency and driving the seamless transition of complex assays throughout their lifecycle. Key aspects of the role include team development through hiring, training, mentoring, and development; providing technical leadership for product commercialization and post-launch monitoring; managing risks and investigations for on-market products; ensuring project milestones and deliverables are met; serving as a Product Owner in a SAFe Agile environment; engaging with stakeholders cross-functionally; fostering a collaborative environment for process and assay development; refining team procedures and maintaining laboratory compliance; actively exploring new methodologies for improved reagent quality and efficiency; and contributing to leadership team initiatives.

Requirements

  • BS with 8+ years, MS with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years in relevant scientific disciplines (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology).
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in scientific research and product development.
  • 1+ years of direct management and/or project management experience.
  • Deep understanding of principles in chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to present complex information clearly.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in developing, implementing, and supporting reagent-based products in FDA/IVDR regulated environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to effectively motivate, guide, and manage within both matrixed and direct-line environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Reagent and Health Performance (RHP) team, overseeing headcount, budget, and logistics.
  • Ensure products are robust and sustainable.
  • Drive the seamless transition of complex assays across their entire lifecycle by setting high standards for efficiency.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop team members to support individual career growth and team success.
  • Manage commercialization of new products and post-launch monitoring of on-market products.
  • Conduct risk evaluation of the on-market portfolio and design fit-for-purpose testing to assess product risks.
  • Drive failure investigations.
  • Ensure milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met for development and on-market support projects.
  • Serve as a Product Owner in a SAFe Agile environment, driving team execution and priorities.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment with company objectives and project commitments.
  • Foster an open, innovative, and collaborative environment during process and assay development efforts.
  • Refine team procedures, maintain key laboratories and equipment, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and Roche standards.
  • Actively explore new methodologies, processes, and new ways of working to improve reagent quality and overall efficiencies.
  • Actively contribute to the ACT and OAD Leadership Team and other strategic initiatives.
