The position involves developing and commissioning quality control systems, applying and analyzing inspection and testing procedures, and utilizing metrics and statistics to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices. The role requires identifying human factors and motivation in quality applications, developing cost of quality concepts for rate of return investments, administering management information systems, and auditing quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. The individual will collaborate with the management team during project bid and estimating activities to ensure quality activities, hold points, and resources are sufficient to complete the work. Additionally, the position provides guidance to quality and project teams to ensure compliance with project quality requirements and proper documentation maintenance regarding quality activities. The role also involves ensuring accurate production of required reports and communication to project management and project teams, adhering to the three phases of controls for each Definable Feature of Work (DFOW), and leading staff development through training, support, guidance, and assistance in goal setting. The individual will manage the day-to-day activities of staff, provide feedback on performance appraisals, manage the development and training of staff, approve paid time off requests (PTO), and ensure compliance with human resources policies. Furthermore, the position requires developing and commissioning proper identification and resolution management systems for the implementation and measurement of the overall Quality Management Plan using metrics and statistical means and methods, reviewing and approving quality control plans, ensuring subcontractor or vendor Quality Inspectors are adequately qualified for their required inspections, conducting audits of relevant subcontractor and off-site inspections for compliance with the Quality Management Plan, and performing other duties as required.
