About the position

The Manager of Product Management for the Nexus Risk Data Products Team at Capital One is responsible for driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and manage product features that meet business needs, utilizing data-driven insights to prioritize development roadmaps, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The position emphasizes a human-centered approach to product management, focusing on delivering real-time, intelligent risk management solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with tech teams to build comprehensive acceptance criteria and identify research needs for future feature design.
  • Break down business epics into features and user stories, driving the team towards Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for valid feature tests.
  • Use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to ensure product features deliver on real business needs.
  • Own and prioritize feature development roadmaps, managing risk through necessary processes and procedures.
  • Conduct research and develop features utilizing new and evolving technology in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with designers, technologists, data scientists, and subject-matter experts to build cutting-edge solutions.
  • Drive day-to-day prioritization of work, troubleshoot reported issues, and oversee releases.
  • Research and troubleshoot data-related issues from user communities and conduct data analysis to drive insights into new product features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of product management experience or experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
  • 1+ year managing a data product
  • 1+ year of experience working on data products and platforms powering digital experiences
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL
  • 3+ years of experience in modern data technology (AWS, Kafka, Snowflake)
