About the position

The Manager, Private Client Services (Family Office) at Alvarez & Marsal Tax, LLC is responsible for overseeing accounting processes and providing a variety of accounting and support services to multiple clients, particularly high-net-worth individuals and families. This role involves managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and developing trusted relationships with clients. The position also includes mentoring junior staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work products in a collaborative environment that values integrity, quality, and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Review and oversee accounting processes, including timely posting of financial transactions to the general ledger.
  • Manage accounting functions for specific families, including accounts payables and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions.
  • Manage and reconcile bank accounts and various expenses.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for clients with related work papers.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual tax packages and supporting documents.
  • Establish and coordinate implementation of accounting control procedures.
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients and resolve issues collaboratively.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate Associates and Senior Associates, providing performance feedback and fostering a team-based atmosphere.
  • Manage workload and deadlines for team members, focusing on quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct client calls to understand critical areas and apply tax technical knowledge to specific situations.
  • Create concise and complete deliverables that address client needs.
  • Clearly communicate project objectives and timelines to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Encourage open expression of ideas and seek diverse perspectives.
  • Assist with business development by creating resources and proposal materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in Private Client Services/Family Office/High Net Worth accounting.
  • CPA or Licensed Attorney certification.
  • High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in QuickBooks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • High motivation to learn and grow.
