About the position
The Manager, Plant Maintenance is responsible for leading equipment installation, start-up, and maintenance within the plant. This role involves managing vendor relationships, overseeing maintenance projects, and providing strategic guidance to the maintenance team to achieve departmental goals. The position emphasizes preventative maintenance, equipment repair, troubleshooting, and administrative tasks, while also focusing on team management and fostering a positive work culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment reliability.
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic problems on production machinery.
- Ensure all maintenance work is logged into the Company CMMS and complete end-of-shift reports.
- Manage outside contractors for large-scale projects in the plant.
- Delegate and allocate work to maintenance team members and set performance expectations.
- Provide timely performance assessments and feedback to team members.
- Communicate regular business updates and foster an open environment for feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or Technical Certificate or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience managing a team of maintenance professionals.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with CMMS software and able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Familiarity with LEAN principles and techniques.
Nice-to-haves
- AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Basic IT knowledge of IP addresses and routers.
