About the position

The Manager on Duty at Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of cargo and passenger services at the airport. This position involves directing supervisory personnel within the assigned functional area, overseeing staffing requirements, and monitoring the performance of employees to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, security, and quality standards are met. The Manager on Duty acts as a liaison between first-level supervisors and upper management, providing guidance and support to ensure operational excellence. In this role, the Manager on Duty is responsible for administering discipline and corrective actions for subordinates, ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and equitably. They must maintain compliance with corporate security programs and TSA legislation, ensuring that all operational aspects are controlled and monitored effectively. The Manager on Duty will also be responsible for conducting audits to ensure continuity and compliance with company policies and procedures. Additionally, the Manager on Duty must read, understand, and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan, ensuring that all WFS staff are issued relevant company IDs and that these are displayed at all times. This position requires strong analytical skills to interpret various documents, write reports, and present information effectively to groups, managers, clients, and customers. The Manager on Duty must also be proactive in monitoring employee performance and addressing any issues that may arise to maintain high standards of service and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervisory personnel within assigned functional area.
  • Oversee and advise on staffing requirements.
  • Monitor and administer discipline and corrective action for subordinates.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through daily feedback.
  • Act as a liaison between first-level supervisors and upper management.
  • Proactively monitor the work of assigned employees to ensure standards are met.
  • Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with corporate security programs and TSA legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with company audit requirements.
  • Read and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan.
  • Ensure all WFS staff display their company ID badges.
  • Administer practices in a fair and equitable manner.

Requirements

  • Two to five years previous management/specialist supervisory experience in field service duties.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Airline pricing experience.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and days off.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with personal computer software.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
