About the position

The Manager of Nursing Services provides leadership and supervision to the clinical staff of Cougar Health Services (CHS), which primarily includes Registered Nurses (RN), both registered and certified Medical Assistants (MA) and Medical Clinic Technicians in the medical clinic. This position participates as a member of the CHS Operations Team and the Clinic Leadership Team, advising on matters of clinical management, policies, and procedures. As an experienced RN, develops, maintains, coordinates, and evaluates processes for daily operations of the clinical areas, consistent with the ACHA's 'Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse in College Health.' Ensures the clinical competencies of the Clinical Staff. Collaborates with internal and external partners to create positive outcomes for students in a way that reflects our commitment to promoting an atmosphere of inclusion, diversity, access, and equity.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. A valid Washington State license to practice as a registered, professional nurse AND two years of professional nursing experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Current Washington State RN license and eligible to practice professional nursing in Washington state, or ability to obtain by time of hire.
  • At least Seven (7) years of clinical nursing experience as a registered nurse in a multi-provider ambulatory outpatient clinic or an inpatient setting.
  • Three (3) years of nursing management experience that includes administrative supervision and direction of other registered nurses and/or other nursing service personnel.
  • Experience with desktop applications such as word processing; spreadsheets, databases and process flow design is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program or equivalent/relevant field.
  • Experience in managing a budget at the department level.
  • Experience providing nursing in a college health, adolescent health, school nursing, urgent care, or emergency room environment.
