About the position

The Manager of Accounts Receivable is responsible for overseeing the cash application, invoice adjustments, and customer support functions within the accounts receivable department. This role involves managing a fast-paced team, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with company standards while maintaining effective relationships with various departments and third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Supervisors of the Cash Application and AR Support teams to ensure production goals are met.
  • Provide weekly updates on Cash Application postings and goals.
  • Notify executive leadership of trends in unapplied cash and courtesy credits.
  • Work closely with Accounting on month-end AR balancing and reconciliation.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Cash Application and AR Support activities in challenging cases.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Collections, Accounting, Operations, Sales, Legal, and IT departments to resolve credit and collection matters.
  • Assist Supervisors with process improvements and needed changes within the department.
  • Develop and maintain efficient training processes for maximum performance.
  • Cross train to ensure effective operations for supervisory staff and team leads.
  • Provide communication and training for new procedures and/or new team members.
  • Serve as the Department leader for coaching and counseling employees to ensure high performance.
  • Develop and maintain AR KPIs, set goals and expectations, provide feedback, and address performance issues as they arise.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc job requests as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years' accounts receivable experience and Cash Application related work experience.
  • One (1) year of previous leadership experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs is required.
  • Detail and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, possess a sense of urgency, and can be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to multitask, learn quickly, and adapt to change easily.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.
