About the position

The IT Customer Support Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and management of IT support operations within the Health and Human Services Commission. This role involves directing a team that provides technical support to regional field offices and Out-stationed Worker Program sites, ensuring effective IT service delivery, and managing operational processes. The position requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to interface with various stakeholders to meet the agency's technology needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of processes and direct the team in handling IT support for regional field offices.
  • Review and approve operational, technical, and support requirements for infrastructure systems.
  • Plan operations and procedures for the IT unit, including budget management and oversight of desktop operations.
  • Interface with various agencies and service providers to deploy and troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Participate in workgroups to address statewide technology initiatives and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement techniques for evaluating local field office activities.
  • Manage and mentor staff in technology operations, fostering employee satisfaction and growth.
  • Represent the agency at business meetings, hearings, and conferences.
  • Keep informed of advancements in IT to ensure smooth transitions in technology operations.

Requirements

  • ITIL Certification
  • 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in Information Technology
  • 5 years of full-time IT-related experience
  • Experience in project management and leadership
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws relevant to IT operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and current Microsoft platforms
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively
