About the position

The Manager of Healthcare Economics will be responsible for analyzing healthcare data, conducting cost analysis, and providing strategic recommendations to optimize healthcare practices and drive cost-effective outcomes. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare economics, data analysis, and healthcare policy, and will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's efforts to improve healthcare efficiency and affordability.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze healthcare data, including claims data, utilization patterns, and cost trends, to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct cost analysis and cost-effectiveness studies to evaluate the financial impact of healthcare interventions, programs, and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and clinical teams, to develop and implement strategies to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce costs.
  • Stay up to date with healthcare policy changes, regulations, and industry trends, and provide guidance and recommendations on potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of healthcare economics initiatives, including the design and evaluation of payment models, reimbursement strategies, and utilization management programs.
  • Support the negotiation and contracting process with healthcare providers and payers, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and government agencies, to gather and analyze data, share best practices, and support collaborative initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare economics initiatives, tracking key performance indicators and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in healthcare economics and data analysis and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes and methodologies.
  • Hire, train, and develop Healthcare Economics department analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, economics, public health, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in healthcare economics, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare economics principles, including cost analysis, utilization management, and healthcare policy.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software, such as SQL, R, or Python, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and reimbursement models.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work.
