About the position

The Fire Sprinkler Design Manager will oversee the design team at a leading fire protection company, ensuring effective and efficient designs for various applications including industrial, commercial, and residential projects. This role involves mentoring team members, providing technical support, and collaborating with project managers to maintain project schedules and compliance with contract specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Design Team to mentor, train, and develop team members.
• Provide technical support to the sales team as needed.
• Ensure quality control and direction to produce effective, efficient designs.
• Review progress with the design team for tracking budgets.
• Collaborate with the design team, project managers, and field superintendents to identify scheduling issues and material/data procurement.
• Review material and design specifications for compliance with contract scope.

Requirements

• NICET III or IV certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Design Manager leading and directing a design team.
• Experience with daily design issues regarding requirements and effectiveness.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Autosprink.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with pumps, high-rise buildings, multi-family units, storage facilities, and data centers.
