About the position

The Field Engineering Manager for Financial Services at Databricks will lead a team of pre-sales Solutions Architects, focusing on expanding business within the Financial Services vertical. This role involves hiring, training, and developing a dynamic team skilled in enterprise software, big data, analytics, and data science. The manager will collaborate closely with the sales organization to close revenue opportunities and enhance the team's effectiveness in delivering complex, value-focused solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of pre-sales Solutions Architects in the Financial Services vertical.
• Hire, train, and grow a team of Solutions Architects.
• Ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets by qualifying accounts and identifying use cases.
• Support complex sales cycles and build relationships with key stakeholders in large corporations.
• Communicate complex business value-focused solutions effectively.
• Establish relationships across the business to ensure customer and team success.
• Create positive morale and establish work-life balance within the team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product (e.g., data warehousing, big data, machine learning).
• Experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams in hypergrowth environments.
• Proven track record of hiring, onboarding, and supporting pre-sales professionals.
• Experience with technical account strategy and architecture discussions.
• Ability to drive executive alignment in accounts for strategic data infrastructure decisions.
