About the position

This position is responsible for providing management of the operational and personnel activities of the Volunteer services, Translation, Social Work, Education and Child Life Departments, as well as other family support services. This position is responsible for management of performance improvement initiatives, budgeting, and implementation of new programming. This position is also responsible for effectively planning, developing and evaluating community events for patients and families and investigating potential community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the goals and objectives for the departments in support of the mission and objectives of Children's; effectively coordinate, integrate, and communicate information and services within these and other departments; maintain and implement knowledge of all the rules, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, laws, etc. that impact or govern the departments and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate volunteer program (50-100 volunteers) including application and orientation process, preparing volunteer schedules and managing assignment/volunteer request as changes occur.
  • Recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide services; select, train, orient and assign staff; develop standards of performance; evaluate employee performance; initiate and make recommendations for personnel actions; and identify and analyze the design of jobs, work processes, work flows, etc. for the departments and implement appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the departments.
  • Plan, develop, and evaluate community events.
  • Investigate potential new programs and patient resources.
  • Develop annual budgets that ensure the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established by the department; prepare and maintain department reports or assure such reports are generated as needed; and maintain appropriate knowledge of computer systems and files so as to produce information needed in support of department activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years relevant experience Required
  • Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required

Nice-to-haves

  • Managerial/Supervisory Experience Preferred
  • Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker Preferred
