About the position

The Manager of Facilities Management at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facilities department, ensuring effective preventive maintenance, managing work requests, and coordinating various services. This role involves leadership responsibilities, including managing departmental personnel, quality control of contractors, and maintaining operational readiness of hospital systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the qualifications and competence of departmental personnel who provide services.
  • Participate in the selection, management, and quality control of outside contractors and vendors.
  • Maintain appropriate resource materials and make them readily accessible to department staff.
  • Identify potential operational issues and address them proactively.
  • Coordinate the repair of equipment or recommend replacement.
  • Instruct others in the service and maintenance of equipment and facilities systems.
  • Identify savings opportunities and revenue enhancements that add value to departmental or facility processes.
  • Schedule daily workflow and monitor completion.
  • Coach, counsel, manage, and lead the departmental team as a cohesive group.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies to maximize operational readiness of hospital building systems and equipment while monitoring costs, regulations, and priorities.
  • Fill in for the Director in his absence.
  • Participate in the employee performance evaluation process to ensure timeliness and appropriateness.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate / GED required; college or trade school graduate preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of hospital operations experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
