The Engineering Development Group (EDG) Manager at MathWorks plays a crucial role in coaching and managing a team of engineers and computer scientists. This position is part of a technical and leadership development program aimed at nurturing talent growth within the company. The EDG Manager is responsible for supporting the career development of team members, ensuring high-quality product support for customers, and leading initiatives to enhance the program's strategic impact.
Responsibilities
- Hire and lead a high performing team of engineers and computer scientists with a variety of skillsets
- Support the career growth of team members through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
- Enable the team to provide high quality, specialized product support to our customers while helping the team build product expertise and customer workflow knowledge
- Jump in, roll up your sleeves, and take the lead to improve processes
- Identify and lead projects to continually grow the scale and strategic impact of the EDG program
- Foster a culture of collaboration and leadership
Requirements
- BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science required
- Management experience at a software company preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required
- 2 years management experience is required
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction
