About the position

The Electric Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective electric service delivery within a designated geographic region. This role involves overseeing field activities related to the operations, maintenance, restoration, and construction of electric transmission and distribution systems. The manager works collaboratively with other Electric Operations managers and is accountable for meeting performance objectives and budgetary goals while leading a team of supervisors and multi-skilled work crews.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of field activities for electric operations within a geographic region.
  • Establish and monitor goals, policies, plans, standards, performance objectives, and budget for the site.
  • Analyze and recommend resource levels to implement policies and practices effectively.
  • Monitor operating and financial objectives to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Manage the installation, operation, maintenance, restoration, and construction of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.
  • Develop site staff and ensure they possess the necessary technical and behavioral skills.
  • Manage, select, coach, and develop site staff to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with Community Relations to enhance Eversource's presence in local communities.
  • Define and implement a labor relations strategy in collaboration with Human Resources and other managers.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of restoration efforts during emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years managing or supervising groups engaged in transmission/distribution or related activities.
  • Thorough understanding of transmission and distribution issues within the electric utility industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively to meet service level commitments.
  • Strong leadership skills to influence teamwork and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey strategic and tactical business issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS in Engineering or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in emergency response situations.

  • Competitive total rewards program including salary range of $149,000.00 to $165,560.00 plus incentive.
