About The Position

The District Sales Manager leads the execution of sales initiatives in all local, regional, and national assigned accounts. This role provides leadership and coaching to ensure a culture of learning and development within the selling organization, utilizing available resources to build and retain a highly competent team. The manager is responsible for the execution of all sales priorities and initiatives for the sales teams in their designated area, providing sales route coverage as needed. They are accountable for selling and adhering to Customer Marketing Agreements (CMA), providing feedback to national customer teams, and executing channel, package, and pricing plans. Maintaining successful relationships with customer accounts, serving as the point of contact, and communicating cross-functionally are key aspects of this role. Additionally, the manager establishes behaviors that ensure a safe working environment and trains teammates on safe working techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or account management with leadership and influencing skills required.
  • Prior experience in retail or direct-store-delivery (DSD) sales including contract terms and negotiations required.
  • Effectively communicates & builds relationships at all organizational levels; ability to both present ideas and influence decisions at leadership level.
  • This position requires you to use your personal vehicle during work hours with reimbursement. Proof of insurance covering business use is required at time of hire.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes behaviors that ensure a safe working environment is provided and ensures that teammates are trained on safe working techniques in the trade.
