About the position
The Manager of CVICU and PCU is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through effective oversight of daily operations and staffing within the unit. This role involves monitoring nursing care, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to standards of care and support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice.
- Facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments.
- Manage admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care.
- Monitor and evaluate the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.
- Manage staff scheduling and maintain staffing in accordance with patient care needs.
- Manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- 1-2+ years of recent acute care CVICU leadership experience required.
- 3-5 years of staff level CVICU experience preferred.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma required.
- Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required.
