About the position
The Manager Accounting position at Ryder System Inc. is a remote role focused on overseeing financial and technical accounting processes, assisting with external financial reporting, and managing special projects within the Corporate Accounting department. The role requires strong leadership skills to develop team members and ensure accurate financial reporting to executive management.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the technical and financial accounting processes
- Lead and develop members of the Corporate Accounting department
- Oversee preparation of key financial statements, reports and metrics for executive management
- Participate in the research and documentation of current and proposed accounting literature on the business as well as accounting and financial reporting processes
- Partner with business operations and finance teams to standardize, create, and continuously improve processes
- Support the preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K
- Liaison with internal and external auditors
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience or four (4) years of public accounting is required
- Advanced skills in MS Excel such as complex formulas, vlookups, pivot tables as well as data management and analysis
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Strong US GAAP and financial accounting experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and methodical problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational skills to balance multiple projects and competing priorities
- Reliable and timely
Nice-to-haves
- Workiva and Workday experience is preferred
