About The Position

The Management Trainee position is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager in overseeing production. As a Management Trainee, you will assume regular duties and be given special projects, management assignments, and quality projects by facility management. This role will rotate tasks during your training to be familiar with the operations and management of both shifts as you learn how to run various department and manufacturing processes at your facility. This is a hands-on training position that builds knowledge to prepare for the higher-level positions in SmartLam.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus and/or one plus years of experience in a production or manufacturing-related field.
  • Able to write and speak clearly and accurately.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel/Word and the ability to learn and use specialized company applications.
  • Must be detail-oriented, highly accountable, and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Leadership Abilities.
  • Must be capable of treating ALL employees in the facility with respect and courtesy.
  • Self-motivated and Goal-oriented.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Develop action plans.
  • Decision making qualities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for learning and understanding all manufacturing & quality processes.
  • Manage and lead team members in your area.
  • Work with supervisors and managers in your area to accomplish goals.
  • Aid in the hiring, training, development, and onboarding of new and existing employees within their assigned departments.
  • Assist with monitoring and collecting of quality data to ensure manufacturing specifications are maintained.
  • Responsible for filling in when employees miss, quit, or take vacations.
  • Involved in setting and evaluating production quotas, both quantity, and quality.
  • Keep all production facilities in good repair, orderly, and clean.
  • Use equipment to capacity to fill orders.
  • Ensure all safety policies are enforced, all training is updated, and all equipment is guarded and well maintained.
  • Keep all safety training and maintenance documented.
  • Keep open communication with all Team Members regarding safety issues.
