About the position

The position of Supervisor Cook at Mammoth Mountain involves overseeing food-service associates, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. The role includes training staff, managing food inventory, and providing excellent customer service during meal periods.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Advise management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Operate and clean equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
• Store, label, and date food items according to policy; maintain established food rotations in storage to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Operate food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
• Help serve meals; remain present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in food service or culinary management.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including HACCP guidelines.
• Ability to train and supervise staff effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
